A/C Basic components of an air conditioning system:
In every air-conditioning system there are five basic components without which it cannot operate. These five components are present in different forms from the most basic to the most complex in different vehicle air conditioning systems. They are the building blocks for each system.
The five components are:

Whether the air conditioning system is an R12 or R134 refrigerant circuit it cannot operate without all given components present. The sizes and types of components vary greatly with the size and type of vehicle in question but in general, the compressor, evaporator and condenser are physically larger on an air conditioning system using R134 than the similar parts on an air conditioning system using R12 refrigerant but even so the components function in the exact same way. There are many other parts to the air conditioning system but these are introduced to regulate the system and make it more efficient.
In general terms there are two basic types of air conditioning systems, these are the air conditioning systems using an expansion valve and the air conditioning systems using a fixed orifice tube. In order for us to understand these systems we must get a basic knowledge of the simple air conditioning systems and how they work.
